From Ullapool north to Cape Wrath, the landscape of the west coast of Scotland is rugged with low hills and isolated distinctive mountains emerging from the surrounding landscape. There are only a few small settlements dotted along the coast. The landscape and coastline are spectacular, with mountains, cliffs, lochs and sandy beaches, often requiring some effort to explore.
