Caption: Neuschwanstein Castle (German: Schloss Neuschwanstein) is a 19th-century palace built by King Ludwig II of Bavaria in honour of Richard Wagner. It is located in the Swabia region of Bavaria, in the municipality of Schwangau. The Säuling is a 2,047 m above sea level mountain on the German-Austrian border in the Ammergau Alps ( Northern Limestone Alps ). Its striking pyramid-like silhouette is one of the landmarks of the region between Füssen and Pfronten.
