Caption: The Coupall rises close to the summit of the Lairig Gartain mountain pass. It then flows north-east, with the long ridge of Buachaille Etive Mòr to the south. By the Old Military Road through Glencoe the river turns sharply to a south-easterly course. At the foot of the glen, the river passes over the falls and under the Glen Etive road-bridge before it meets the River Etive.
