Diarmid Weir Photography

About Me

Diarmid portrait I have been taking photographs for many years, in the past mainly in black and white, doing my own developing and enlarging. In 2005 I acquired a Canon EOS 350D digital SLR which allowed me the sort of control over colour photos that I used to have over my black and white images.

Uncompressed image files from this camera are 46.5 Mb in size, and so can give high quality enlargements at least up to A3 size. More recently I have been using a Canon EOS 40D, which produces 57.7Mb files. I use high-quality lenses for maximum image quality. Currently I use a Canon f1.8 50mm lens, a Sigma 10-20mm lens, Sigma 105mm macro lens and recently acquired Canon 17-85mm IS lens for my photos.

I live in Edinburgh, Scotland, but spend a fair amount of time in Germany because my wife lived there during our early years.
